A message of thanks from the President

Dear Friends:

Because of the heroic efforts of Cyndi Gwatney, Patti Phillips, Susan Stanford and her family, and many others, the Humane Society had an incredibly good day on Saturday, making close to $700 at the Calcasieu Animal Coalition annual yard sale.

And, all groups participating got a great boost of public education from the sweet story that ran on the news that evening, which can also be found on KPLC's website.

Because the event couldn't have taken place without the place, the wonderful folks at Four Paws on the Bayou are forever in our hearts and prayers. They cheerfully and tirelessly helped everyone set up, sell, and take down the goods at the yard sale, and donated their peaceful and beautiful place for us to hold this sale.

Many great connections were forged and it looks like we're really starting to see folks from different organization starting to come together on common ground issues such as spay/neuter and working to create a no-kill parish. BRAVO to Wanda Williams, Mike Williams, Jodi, Sky, and the other great folks at Four Paws.

Thanks to all who helped make it a great day.

Beth Zilbert,
President, SWLA Humane Society
