Every year in Calcasieu Parish alone over 10,000 unwanted pets are destroyed at area animal control facilities.

The Humane Society strongly believes that the only way to reduce the pet overpopulation crisis is for the public to spay and neuter their pets. To help achieve this goal, we are developing low-cost and no-cost spay/neuter programs where the public can have their pet altered, especially if they have had unwanted litters.
