The Humane Society believes that education is the key to making our communities kinder and safer places for our families and our family pets.

Our anti-cruelty efforts are critical to this effort as is our spay-neuter message.

We are proud to offer numerous humane education programs for area children and to provide information about these volunteer efforts here on gohumane.org.

School visits involve volunteers bringing their specially trained dogs to demonstrate pet safety to children. We also teach kids how to care for dogs and cats, and promote kindness to animals. The dogs perform tricks for the kids and are truly amazing.

The New Leash on Life program accomplishes much of the school program, but so much more.
